UV lights are placed inside of the HVAC system in order to disinfect the air of both viruses and bacteria. These systems can either be placed within the ducts or on the inside of the main unit. The way this unit is usually configured is by placing the UV lights downstream from the cooling coil. This way it deals with the spore size microorganisms in order to eliminate any airborne bacterial and viral contaminants.
